What A Wonderful Experience following a day at Alcatraz. Amazing Food, Staff and Atmosphere. Unfortunately, as I am writing this review, I have just learned this San Francisco Legend Served it's Last Plate on May 30th 2025. I am Truly dissapointed to never have the opportunity to visit such a Delicious Delight ever again...Thank You to the Owners for Contributing such a Fabulous Staple to this City's Culinary Distinction since 1985...God Speed!
THE best mussels I have ever had. Great service and location. Will be back as soon as I can. Nice to go back to a restaurant that actually has customers in mind!
I could not recommend this place more. The waiter was absolutely excellent with recommendations, timely with offering additional drinks and super friendly . We went to dinner with eight people. Every single person had stated this was the best meal we had in San Francisco. Stunning.
Great food, service and environment. We went there after visiting Alcatraz we did not make a reservation but that would extremely help in getting a seat. We finished our Alcatraz tour, walked off the boat at 7PM and went straight to the restaurant. We were able to get seated at the high table next to the bar. We ordered the ribs and a margarita pizza.
Visiting SF to show my husband where I grew up. Fog City Diner is as I remembered it. A perfect intimate lunch spot before the game. Our server was delightful which made the experience all the better. My wood grilled chicken salad (a twist on Waldorf) was light and refreshing. The chicken pieces were moist little nuggets of smokey goodness over a bed of tender greens, celery, apples, currants, almonds, and blue cheese. The apples could have been crisper, and the side of avocado (which was suggested) was a little overripe. Overall, I would still order again (minus the avo). Oysters were perfect. Fries were thin and crispy, not over salted. Husband's Seared tuna salad was great. Tuna had a nice sesame crust and was over a crunchy slaw with lots of ginger. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
We had the pleasure of filming this iconic restaurant. The design of it is really cool. The people who work here are very nice, with a variety of food and drink options. A lovely historic spot for locals and travelers to enjoy modern San Franciscan cuisine and cocktails when visiting SF!
Great drinks. We recommend the mezcal margarita and the purple haze. Great service from the bartender who also recommended a shot of Fernet, ”San Francisco-style.” I loved it! Atmosphere was fantastic around noon on a Friday, no wait.
Wooooo! At all costs go here between 1500-1800 (3-6pm). The barefoot is inexpensive and delicious. Located just near pier 23. There are times when the fog rolls in completely covering the area. A right lovely place.
